7 Celebrity Pets Who Are Completely Spoiled

My dog is spoiled — there’s no denying it. She eats high-quality salmon dog food, noshes on kangaroo meat treats and bathes in shampoo made for sensitive skin.

She is, without a doubt, pampered.

Her cousin (my brother’s 70-pound pit bull) is also treated like royalty. The mere fact that he routinely nudges your hand with his nose when he’s hungry for attention is a dead giveaway.

Celebrity Pets

My guess is your pet gets high-class treatment, too. The way we treat our pets, though — giving them endless belly rubs and behind-the-ear scratches — doesn’t even come close to the kind of spoiling some celebrity pets get.

1. The Winfrey Dogs

Oprah’s known for doling out prizes and gifts. Guests lucky enough to have stepped foot in her recording studio typically left with thousands of dollars worth of stuff — from TVs, to cars, to laptops and more.

None of that, however, compares to the kind of gifts her dogs receive. Take their trust fund, for example, which amounts to a whopping $30 million.

Yep, when Oprah dies, her dogs will inherit a fortune. Given the amount she’s put in their names for future use, there’s no telling how much she’s spending on them now.

My guess? It’s a lot.

2. The Spears Dogs

We all know raising a dog is costly. Vet bills, food, grooming and more inevitably add up. For most, though, it’s not to the tune of $30,000.

For Britney Spears, it is.

After her finances were publicized in 2013 and again in 2014, the world learned Spears spent thousands of dollars on things like pet clothing (totaling $1,585), grooming ($300 per visit) and pet sitting (nearly $15,000 a year).

Honestly? Knowing a dog’s wardrobe costs more than mine is a little upsetting.

3. The Hiltons

Paris Hilton’s dogs live lives more lavish than most of ours. Their mansion, for example, boasts features like:

  • Multiple stories
  • A balcony
  • Air conditioning
  • Heating
  • A chandelier

Apparently, the “dog house” was designed in the image of Hilton’s own house. From the wrought-iron fence to the perfectly trimmed lawn (yes, we’re still talking about the dog house), you can tell Paris put a lot of thought into it.

4. Trouble Helmsley

Leona Helmsley, the late hotel and real estate billionaire, left her white Maltese (named Trouble) a trust fund of $12 million.

Given only 2 of her 4 grandchildren also received trust funds (for $5 million each), it’s clear Trouble was Helmsley’s pride and joy.

Along with the fund, Trouble was designated a spot in the Helmsley mausoleum, which has an upkeep budget of around $3 million.

5. The Carey Terriers

Mariah Carey’s Jack Russell Terriers indulge in roughly $46,000 worth of spa treatments per year. Granted, there are 8 of them, but even so, it’s a wonder how a pet spa bill could add up to a number like that.

By human standards, a regular trip to the spa might cost somewhere around $100 or perhaps a little more. Based off Carey’s total, that amounts to around 460 massages or facials annually.

Divide that number by 8 dogs, and you’ll see each of the Carey pups could potentially be getting just over 1 treatment per week.

Wouldn’t that be the life?

6. The Roddenberry Dogs

Majel Roddenberry, the late wife of Star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry, also left her dogs a hefty trust fund.

And along with the $4 million they inherited, the dogs gained the right to permanent residence in their mansion home.

Not only that, but also the Roddenberrys’ favorite employee gets to live alongside them (with $1 million in her pocket) because of how well she always cared for the dogs.

7. Karl’s Cat

Karl Lagerfeld, creative director for Chanel, is more of a cat person, which is lucky for his Siamese named Choupette.

According to Lagerfeld, Choupette:

  • Eats lunch and dinner on the table with him every day
  • Sleeps under a pillow
  • Knows how to use an iPad
  • Has 2 personal maids — 1 for daytime, and 1 for night

To top it off, when Lagerfeld is away, Choupette’s maids take notes on her day-to-day activity. At this point, there are around 600 pages’ worth of lovingly detailed notes (or more).

Jealous much?

These pets live the high life, but do you think they know that? Whether or not they do, it’s safe to say their humans adore them.
