Recalled: Vital Essentials Freeze-Dried Beef Nibblets Entrée for Dogs

Maker: Carnivore Meat Company
Cause: Potential for salmonella
Announcement: Customer email shared online — Petful trying to verify
What was recalled: 1 lb. bags of Vital Essentials Freeze-Dried Beef Nibblets Entrée for Dogs with Lot #13753

According to the company email, which Petful has not been able to independently verify, the “product was distributed in the continental USA through independent retailers and via online retailers Chewy.com and Amazon…. No products other than the specific product identified above are subject to this voluntary recall.”

Testing by the Michigan Department of Agriculture turned up a positive result for salmonella in a retail sample. “There have been no reports of illness,” the company stated.

Carnivore Meat Company could not be reached by phone to verify this recall (we left a message). This post will be updated once we hear back from the company.
